Day 1, April 7, 2008   Monday     
We head out this morning at 7:00 for our historical adventure. There will be lots of fun activities while we travel, and we’ll receive our own Civil War journal to record our experiences. This evening, we’ll have time for shopping, swimming and pizza. (Dinner)

Day 2, April 8, 2008   Tuesday     
After breakfast at our hotel, we’ll travel to Antietam National Battlefield for hands-on experiences, role-playing activities and a short walking tour of the battlefield.  After lunch we travel to Washington, DC for a tram ride through Arlington National Cemetery. Dinner this evening will be at Union Station, a beautifully restored working railway station with over 100 stores and restaurants.  A guide will join us for a tour of Washington, DC before we head for our hotel.(Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3, April 9, 2008   Wednesday
This morning we visit Manassas National Battlefield Park. Our visit starts with the movie “Manassas: End of Innocence.” This movie covers both the first and second battles of Manassas. We’ll take a ranger-guided walking tour of the historic battlefields. After lunch, we will travel to Pamplin Historical Park near Petersburg, Virigina for our Civil War Adventure Camp, where we will actually wear what the soldiers wore, eat what the soldiers ate, sleep where the soldiers slept, and march where the soldiers marched! For serving one night of duty, we will receive a $5.00 pay voucher (for the gift shop), a kepi (the cap worn by the soldiers), and official discharge papers! (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 4, April 10, 2008  Thursday     
Camp ends this morning with a visit to the Museum of Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War. After a delicious BBQ lunch, we’ll be off for Gettysburg. Time to eat again! This time at General Pickett’s Buffet.  After dinner, a guided Ghost Walk through the streets of Gettysburg will prove to be a “fright-seeing” adventure!  (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 5, April 11, 2008  Friday 
   
This morning we visit the Gettysburg National Cemetery, the site of President Lincoln’s immortal “Gettysburg Address.” From there a guide will lead us on a tour of the battlefields of the Battle of Gettysburg, the turning point of the American Civil War in July of 1863. We will continue our walk through history with lunch at the Dobbin House, Gettysburg’s oldest and most historic home, followed by an Abraham Lincoln speech. After some free time and shopping, we’ll be transported back to the Battle of Gettysburg with the movie “Fields of Freedom.”  Based on the actual diaries of soldiers from both sides, we will witness the ferocity of the battle and the anguish of its aftermath. But now on to some fun! We are spending the rest of the afternoon at the Allstar Events Complex with a southern cookout of fried chicken and all the trimmings, unlimited fun passes for miniature golf, go-karts, pool tables, and much, much, more. By this time we’ll be ready for an evening relaxing and swimming at the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 6, April 12, 2008  Saturday     
Today we head home with many new memories and new friends. We should arrive home about 6:00 p.m. (Breakfast)
